What makes up my undergraduate degree?

Our 3-year bachelor's degrees consist of 24 units. These units are grouped as majors, extended majors and minors, which will be named on your degree certificate. You can fill the rest of your degree with other units of your choice.

  • Majors

One major requires 8-12 units over the course of your bachelor's degree so, in most cases, you can choose to study two majors.

  • Extended majors

Extended majors enable you to dive deeper into a particular area of study and normally require 13 to 18 units.

  • Minors

Sequences of four related units allow you to gain skills in a specialised area that complements your major, career goals or personal interests.

  • Foundational unit

Your course may include up to four units that give you broad grounding and key skills in your chosen degree area.

  • Bridging unit

If you do not have the required subject at school level or equivalent for your chosen major, you can take additional preparation units in your first year.

  • Elective unit

Depending on your majors and minors, you may have space for elective units to expand your knowledge in a new field and explore a range of interests.
